Bring Air To Your Outdoor Fish Pond

I have an outdoor Koi pond. My Kois are growing quite large. I was told that having a pond aerator helps with all the life that develops in the pond from small micro organisms to the fishes themselves. I went ahead and purchased an Aquascape 2-Outlet Aeration Pond Kit. They have 4 outlet version, but since my pond is not the biggest, I opt in for the 2-Outlet one. Installation was quite easy. Just find a power source and run the hoses in the pond. Just be sure to protect the electrical outlet and the units from mother nature since it’s an outdoor pond.

After strategically placing the air stones in the castle and the other near the plants, I powered the machine on and instantly saw life in the pond with the bubbles it was producing. The bubbles is suppose to help supply oxygen to the water for healthier fish and plants.

After a few days, I notice the fish seems to be more happier and swimming more freely, especially through the bubbles. The only downside is that since this is an outdoor in ground pond, the bubbles makes it hard to see the fish in the air stone location because as the bubble rises it distorts the water and it’s hard to see the fish. This only happens to part of the pond, the farther away the air stones, the better the visibility. It’s a small price to pay to inject more oxygen into the ecosystem and seeing how the Kois like to swim through the bubbles is a win win. Checkout the ebay link below if you want to pick one up. It’s an affiliate link.
