Gardening service is convenient. Someone comes to your house every two weeks, upkeeps your lawn and garden, and you pay a monthly fee. It was pretty affordable and convenient. However with rising prices every year, it doesn’t seem so affordable and convenient, especially since it was burning a hole through my wallet. So I’ve decided to cancel my gardening service and get off my lazy butt and do it myself. My property isn’t that big so it should take me less then an hour to mow and trim my yard. So I got on the internet to look for an electric lawnmower and trimmer.
After spending weeks searching online, I’ve decided to settle on the Toro 21" 60V Max Electric Lawnmower. It was quite pricey compared to the rest of the electric lawnmower out there, but this was the newest model (2022) that was just released and reviews where great on them. Doing the calculation, if I mowed my lawn by myself for half a year, it would pay itself already. So I ordered it online at Home Depot.
I’ve decided to get this model for a few reason. It looks to have a powerful motor with a 60V Flex-Force battery that works across Toro’s ecosystem. Granted this is my first Toro product, it’s nice to know that I can use the battery on other Toro products in the future. The battery is good for up to a 50-minute run time using the econo-blade. Motor is a brushless DC motor as well.
This model also has duel LED headlights on the 2022 model. You can mow your lawn at night if you want, although I wouldn’t recommend it. Although it’s an electric motor, it’s still quite loud and you don’t want to wake up your neighbors.
The mower is also self propelled. There’s a belt that connects to the rear wheels that helps push the mower forward for you so you don’t have to. Very convenient, you just need to hold on the handle as it glides forward for you.
Space saving is great on this mower. Since it’s electric, you can fold it up and stand it up. Something you can’t really do on a gas mower because of the gas tank.
Mower also has the option of mulching the grass back to the lawn or using a big to catch the grass and emptying it out in your gardening bin. I prefer the mulching so the grass just gets recycled back to the lawn.
This mower also is all metal design. The frame itself is all metal and the wheels have rubber on them. Some of the cheaper electric mower’s I’ve looked at has plastic all around which is a big turn off for me.
The way Toro packaged the mower, it’s really easy to assemble. You’ll be up and running in less then 20 minutes (assuming you have a full charged battery).
I mowed my lawn a few times already and I’m quite pleased with this product. I think Toro did a really good job on it. The price is on the high side, but you’ll see why with the metal body, strong electric motor, and just how well it’s built. Check out our unboxing video of the product to see for yourself.
